Massed Male Choral Celebration - Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir & Guests

This concert was given by Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir to celebrate their fortieth anniversary. To celebrate in style they were duly joined by a number of other male choirs including those of Kenfig Hill, Canoldir, Dowlais, Gwent, Maesteg, Neath, Penybontfawr, and Pontarddulais, therein making a massed choir of over 400.

Added to this was the accompaniment of a fifty-three piece orchestra, whom you will hear have their own opening number in the impressive 'Welsh Prelude'. The Massed Choir were also joined by the joyful 'Llanishen Fach Primary School Choir'.

The quality of the choirs shines herein, and can be heard in 'My Lord What A Morning' where it is extremely hard for a choir of this size to stay perfectly in tune, as they do.

One of the highlights is a complete recording of 'Nidaros', at just under ten minutes long, one of the warhorses of the male voice repertoire - which is the only recording of this with orchestra that we are aware of.

The rest of the programme includes a mix of favourites, such as Men Of Harlech, Chorus Of The Hebrew Slaves, and American Trilogy, all finished off with the National Anthems of Wales and the UK.
